Biography
Elijah Akhimien holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology from Delta State University, Nigeria. After working as a Human Physiologist for two years, he moved to Australia where he completed an occupational therapy(OT) master’s degree program. The focus of his postgraduate research was the use of smartphone technology by community-dwelling older people to identify falls risks. His work aimed to limit costs associated with OT home visits by evaluating photos/videos taken by community-dwelling older people to identify falls risk. His career goal is to work in community rehabilitation assisting older people to remain in the community and live meaningful lives.

Katrina and Aleksandra are occupational therapists at Allied Health Partnerships. He is a prominent commentator on public policy, having advanced consumer rights through scores of submissions, appearances at parliamentary inquiries and in media.

Josh provides financial services legal advice to disabled or wronged consumers, disability groups, charities, Trustees, financial counsellors and others. He is passionate about increasing consumer rights and giving voice to those dis-empowered by health and socioeconomic barriers.

Lydia is an occupational therapist working for the Department of Education in Queensland. Lydia has a keen interest in self-regulation, particularly how teachers co-regulate their students, and how teachers themselves learn the skills necessary to do this effectively. Dave Anderson
Dave Anderson is the proud father of 2 autistic girls in the mainstream education system in Victoria and is a passionate advocate for raising awareness and providing practical support to children with autism and their families. Both Dave and his wife Michelle, work with 'Access Your Supports' - a disability support service for NDIS participants. Dave's role is a Support Co ordinator and Michelle manages Group Programs. Together with their daughter, who has ASD, they volunteer with The Treehouse, running programs facilitating social activities for children with autism.
Dave has spoken often at Primary Schools and fundraising events throughout the Geelong region.

Kobie Boshoff
Dr Boshoff is a senior lecturer in occupational therapy and a Director of the International Centre
for Allied Health Evidence at the University of South Australia. She is an experienced
practitioner with children and young people with disabilities. She has a long-standing profile in
industry-based projects and integrating research and teaching. One of her primary areas is
service delivery in school settings e.g. development of the occupational therapy role in the SA
Department for Education’s Children’s Centres, the development of a description of the
occupational therapy role in Australian schools and facilitating student placements in preschools
in SA.

Jacqui Etherington
Jacqui Etherington graduated as an occupational therapist in south Africa in 1997 and worked briefly in the UK before settling in Australia. Her occupational therapy career has included, occupational rehab, hospital and community rural health and for 16 years, paediatrics. She has worked in early intervention, inter-disciplinary school-based programs and is currently the Allied Health Manager for occupational therapy and physiotherapy in the ACT Education directorate. Jacqui previously taught allied health assistants at the Canberra Institute of Technology and set up and coordinated a Paediatric Occupational Therapy student-led clinic at the University of Canberra, providing centre and school-based services

Jill Jeremy is a PhD candidate in the School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney. Jill’s doctoral research is in teacher/occupational therapist collaborations in mainstream primary schools in Australia. Beginning her career as a registered nurse, Jill quickly moved into medical research and worked in a variety of roles until she re-trained as a primary teacher in 2014. Jill has a Master of Teaching degree and is passionate about inclusive education and the benefits of interprofessional collaboration in the classroom.

Carl Leonard
Dr Leonard is an education scholar and practitioner with 29 years’ experience in schools, mostly in leadership and/or consultancy positions. holding key roles related to care of students with challenging behaviours and learning needs, and policy implementation. Dr Leonard’s scholarly work has focused on student quality of school life, affective outcomes of schooling and teacher development. In addition to working full-time in schools (till mid 2019), Dr Leonard has achieved significant scholarly output and presented at national and international conferences, is program convenor of the Master of Special and Inclusive Education - UoN, and manages a multi-million-dollar scholarship program with the Victorian DET.

Dr Annie Banbury is the Clinical Research Lead at Coviu. Annie has a PhD in
telehealth and has worked extensively with a range of health and community
care organisations to support them effectively implement and embed telehealth
into usual care. She joined Coviu at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic
and supported organisations to roll out and implement their enterprise platform.
She now leads Coviu’s extensive research program numerous universities and
organisations that use the Coviu platform.

For her PhD she developed, delivered and evaluated group interventions for
older people with chronic disease, specifically designed for telehealth
environment, which sought to improve health literacy and social support.
Annie is still an active researcher and is a Senior Telehealth Consultant at the

Lorrae is passionate about keeping occupation at the heart of occupational therapy. She has worked in a variety of adult mental health settings in Australia, Canada and the UK and is presently a lead occupational therapist at Forensicare in Melbourne and a doctoral candidate with Monash University. Biography
Joan O’Donnell is a driver-trained occupational therapist and Co-Director of The Institute of Driver Health, which provides clinical and educational services. Joan has a BAppSc(OT) and MSc(Med) from the University of Sydney and a PhD from Macquarie University after examining the functional outcomes of cerebrovascular neurosurgery.
Joan has worked in public and private institutions in neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, orthopaedics, aged care, occupational rehabilitation and driving assessments. She has also worked in various management positions in quality improvement and utilisation review. Joan is a lecturer at the University of Sydney and teaches in the undergraduate and post-graduate Occupational Therapy programmes.

Jill Fitzgerald is an occupational therapist with extensive experience working with children and adults with acquired brain injury and neurological insult. Jill has worked at the Royal Children's Hospital in the Neurosciences OT role since 2017. In 2020 she commenced a body of work on best practice for screening, assessment and management of children at risk of, or in post traumatic amnesia following traumatic brain injury. Biography
Sue Sloan is a registered Occupational Therapist and Clinical Neuropsychologist. In 1995, after many years working in hospital settings, Sue established Osborn Sloan and Associates a private practice providing community-based therapy services to people with Acquired Brain Injury. Sue’s main interests lie in developing therapeutic programs to build participation in people with severe cognitive and behavioural issues. Tarsha is a 24 year old woman who was diagnosed with Wilson's Disease in Jan 2019. This is a rare genetic condition that had devastating neurological impact on Tarsha. She went from being a fit, health OT student who volunteered, travelled the world and competed in long distance running to being unable to speak, walk, feed herself, wash herself or go to the toilet. After a long (on-going) recovery, Tarsha has just returned to full time work as an OTA and she has lots to share about her journey about the importance of empowering the client in the rehab journey.
