Mental Health OT holds much in common with our Allied Health Colleagues. This makes the difference and skills we offer as OTs sometimes challenging to articulate. This session will focus on translating theoretical knowledge to practice for those considering a career in Mental Health OT. Our objective will be to:

    • Understand what mental health OT offers clients, families and organisations.

    • Daily catering (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on Thursday; morning tea and lunch on Friday).

    • Provide practice examples to demonstrate how we work.

    • Highlight the breadth of mental health OT practice.

The session will involve a short presentation by Catherine Daly and then a panel discussion with mental health OTs from a wide range of mental health practice areas. Attendees will also have the opportunity with network with other like minded peers, exhibitors from the OT Mental Health Forum and will be welcomed to join OT colleagues from around Australia to attend the closing plenary keynote presentation by Suzanne Fuzzard, Centre Manager for headspace Murray Bridge and Victor Harbor (SA).
